Hot Summer Trend: Neon Rose

neon rose pink

One of THE hottest colors for summer is Neon Rose – a bright, almost neon version of hot pink. It’s flattering on many skin tones and you can find just about any item in a shade of neon rose at the mall. We’ve gathered five stylish looks from bloggers across the world to show you this gorgeous color and the many ways to rock it.

This gorgeous blogger went for a head-to-toe look, decking herself out in neon rose. We love that she used different lightnesses/darknesses of the shade to keep the outfit dynamic and give it balance. We also love that she finished it off with brown sunglasses and a tan bag and kept her accessories neutral.

Pink and gold? How could we not love this look? For All Things Lovely blogger paired her electric, neon pink dress with bright gold accessories – a clutch and two arms full of jewelry. We love the extra pop of color in her earrings and her iconic Prada sunglasses. Even without the accessories, this dress is an outfit all on its own.

We adore this more muted version of neon pink and the simplicity of this blogger’s outfit. Tortoise shell sunglasses finish off this tropical destination look just perfectly.

In this particular photo, the dress looks a little more magenta than neon pink but you get the idea still! We love the flowy fabric and summery feel of the dress paired with the more structured, in-your-face heels. This blogger knows there’s no need to over accessorize a shoe+dress combo like this!

This neon pink pant is a little more red, so we love that she paired it with muted colored sandals featuring tan, mint and banana yellow. This looks like it belongs somewhere tropical. Cabo anyone?!

Best foundation for summer

 Best Foundation For Summer

Summer can take a serious toll on your foundation – from causing powder to cake to making your foundation transfer onto your sunglasses and everything else your face touches. If you live somewhere that experiences both ultra cold and super warm weather, chances are that you just can’t get away with using the same foundation throughout summer that you do in the winter. That’s okay, though, because we’ve compiled a short list to help you find your best foundation for summer.

1. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – $44

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation comes in a large variety of shades and has a consistency perfect for the summer’s warmth. I recommend applying it with a dampened Beauty Blender or other domed sponge for a flawless finish and lightweight coverage. It’ll even out your skin tone without clogging your pores, and appears to just melt into your skin, providing just the right amount of coverage with a very small amount of product. I recommend using Make Up For Ever HD Finishing Powder to set it, or any other ultra fine powder that is talc-free.

2. YSL Touche Éclat Foundation – $55

Although this lightweight, luminous formula foundation from Yves Saint Laurent is a little pricey – it’s worth it if you’re able to splurge. Your skin will look glowing all day long with just the right amount of coverage. The foundation comes with a built-in SPF 19, so you’ll be both protected and gorgeous.

3. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 Oil Free – $43

If your skin’s feeling dried out and you love an SPF/foundation mix – this tinted moisturizer is for you. A little goes a long way with this product, and it blends like a dream. It’ll leave you with sheer coverage and a natural glow, so you can spend less time worrying about your complexion and more time enjoying the summer sun. We love this product for all the beach babes out there!

4. Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer – $27

Clinique is the choice for sensitive faces and those looking for more affordable yet high quality products. Their Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer is no exception. Yet again, a little goes a long way and will give you an even complexion, natural appearance, and that “no makeup” look everyone tries for in the summer.

How to Wear White this Summer

Many people find it incredibly difficult to pull of white, but it’s one of the simplest and most chic colors! This summer, it’s time to finally reach for your plain white top – or to pick up a couple of new ones – and wear white with confidence. Follow our four easy steps below and learn how to wear white this summer.

  1. Pair with something bright
White can look all too basic, and even startling, against something too dark. It’s summer time, so grab your favorite bright pink shorts, printed skirt, or neon statement necklace. A crisp white top is the perfect backdrop for any colored ensemble, so take advantage! We love the above photo because the wearer has paired her lasercut white tank with candy colored jeans and a mint green and gold bracelet. Even though the colors she chose are bright, it’s well-balanced!
  2. Make sure it’s clean
A dingy white shirt can break an outfit faster than it can make it. If your white shirt has become discolored and can’t be fixed by a little bit of bleach in the wash, it’s time to toss it and find something new. I recently had to go through my closet and say goodbye to a few of my white tops. It’s sad, but you really notice how yellowed they truly are when you pick up a brand new white article of clothing. It’ll make you wonder why you hadn’t done it sooner!
  3. Make it pop with a sunless tan
If you’re like me, wearing white can be a little intimidating. That’s because I’m very pale – and sometimes feel a white shirt only brings more attention to that. Instead of baking beneath the sun, opt for a sunless glow. Something like the Light/Medium Bronzing Mousse by St Tropez will give you just enough color without overdoing it, and is so easy to use, too!
  4. Wear a flesh colored bra
I don’t understand why, but a lot of women think they have to wear a white bra beneath a white shirt. This simply does not work, since you can still see it! What you should opt for, instead, is a bra in a color as closed to your skin color as you can find. This will keep a seamless appearance beneath your shirt and won’t draw attention to the fact it may be somewhat sheer. Or, you can always pick up a super thin camisole if you want a little more coverage.

What do you think, readers? Will you be rocking white with confidence this summer?

Spring Makeup Looks We Love

Spring calls for plenty of cleaning, a little wardrobe rehauling, and a definite makeup routine change. What you use over the winter months just won’t cut it when the warmer weather kicks it into high gear, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. This spring we’re trading in our vampy lipsticks and dark smokey eyes for fresh colors, dewy skin, and a sun kissed glow. Care to join us? Read on to see some of our favorite spring makeup looks and our advice as to how to achieve them yourself.

Jessica Alba is the queen of natural beauty, and this look is no exception. We love her ultra dewy skin and the rose colored lip she’s rocking. We recommend a great peach-rose blush like NARS Sex Appeal, reflective highlighter like NARS Albatross, and a frosted lipstick like MAC Please Me. Don’t forget to carry the highlighter across the brow bones, on the bridge of the nose, and into your cupid’s bow for a full-on dewy masterpiece.

Rihanna’s makeup is always flawless and fresh, which is why we love this look for spring. Pair an almost-matte lipstick in poppy red with big lashes and a touch of bronzer for a “look at me” spring look. We love MAC Russian Red for the lips and Benefit Cosmetics Watts Up highlighting stick for just about everything else – including a bit of shimmer on the lids! Remember, go easy on the cheeks and eyes when rocking a bold color on the lips – particularly in spring and summer when looks tend to be softer and less harsh than fall/winter.

Cara Delevingne is one of the most in-demand models right now, and we can certainly understand why. She’s gorgeous, yes, but she also knows how to rock a lovely lip. For a similar look, we love NARS Heat Wave or OCC Makeup’s Lip Tar in Queen. For a contrasting pop of color, apply a little bit of turquoise liner in the lower water line. You’ll be looking spring-ready in no time at all.

This particular look is all about frost and highlighting. We say pick up Make Up For Ever Diamond Shadow and use it in the inner corner as well as across the lid. If you’d like, you could use this shadow as your highlighter too! Finish off with a couple coats of mascara (we love Benefit They’re Real) and a swipe of Revlon’s Super Lustrous Pearl lipstick in Porcelain Pink.
